Description
Deutsch: Das GTZ-Haus am Reichpietschufer 20 in Berlin-Tiergarten, Sitz der Berliner Repräsentanz der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit. Das Gebäude am Südrand des Potsdamer Platz wurde 1912-1913 nach einem Entwurf des Architekten Paul Karchow errichtet. Neben dem Weinhaus Huth ist es das einzig erhaltene Gebäude des ehemaligen Geschäftsviertels zwischen Potsdamer Bahnhof und Landwehrkanal. Das Gebäude steht unter Denkmalschutz.
English: The GTZ House at Reichpietschufer No. 20 in Berlin-Tiergarten, seat of the Berlin offices of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (German Technical Corporation). Apart from the Wine House Huth, this is the only surviving building of the pre-WWII commercial district between the former Potsdam Railway Station and the Landwehrkanal. It stands at the southern margin of Potsdamer Platz and was built from 1912 to 1913 by architect Paul Karchow for the Transatlantische Güterversicherungsgesellschaft (Transatlantic Commodity Insurance Corporation). The building has been designated as a historic landmark.
