Summary
[edit]DescriptionBerlin, Mitte, Zietenplatz, Denkmal General Schwerin.jpg |
English: Memorial for General Field Marshal Kurt Christoph Graf von Schwerin at the northeastern corner of Zietenplatz in Berlin-Mitte. A marble version of the memorial, created by François Gaspard Adam and Sigisbert François Michel, was first erected on nearby Wilhelmplatz (which now longer exists) in 1769. In the 19th century, it was replaced by a bronze version by August Kiß who redesigned the monument. The original mable sculpture now has its place in the Bode-Museum; Kiß' version was removed in WWII and, after being stored away for decades, was re-erected near the original site in September 2009. |
