Description
Deutsch: Ehemaliges Bürogebäude der Deutschen Heroldversicherung in der Taubenstraße 42-43 in Berlin-Mitte, erbaut 1926 nach einem Entwurf der Architekten Moritz Ernst Lesser und Leopold Stelten. Das Gebäude wurde nach Kriegsschäden 1952 von Erich Kuhnert für das Verkehrsministerium der DDR wiederhergestellt und umgebaut. Weitere Umbauten erfolgten 1992 und 1999. Seitdem gehörte das Haus zum ersten Dienstsitz des Bundesministeriums für Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend im Block zwischen Taubenstraße, Glinkastraße und Jägerstraße. Seit 2004 erfolgt ein Umbau des gesamten Komplexes aus Alt- und Neubauten samt Errichtung eines neuen Hauptgebäudes an der Glinkastraße 18/24 und eines Verbindungsbaus. Nach Fertigstellung soll das Ministerium von einem Zwischendominzil am Alexanderplatz dort einziehen (Stand: Juli 2009). Das Haus an der Taubenstraße 42-43, das nicht in den neuen Komplex integriert wird, ist jetzt eine Außenstelle des Bundesamtes für Bauwesen und Raumordnung. Als Teil des Bauensembles Mauerstraße ist es denkmalgeschützt.
