Deutsch: Erweiterungsbau des ehemaligen Postscheckamts Berlin am Reichstagufer in Berlin-Mitte, heute Teil des Presse- und Informationsamts der Bundesregierung. Das Gebäude entstand 1918-1923 nach einem Entwurf von Alfred Lempp als Erweiterung des vom gleichen Architekten stammenden Postscheckamts, das ab 1913 auf dem Gelände der ehemaligen Markthalle IV errichtet worden war. Das fünfstöckige Haus am Reichstagufer nimmt den Platz des ehemaligen Vorderhauses der Markthalle ein. Der schmale linke Gebäudeteil entstand 1997/1998 nach einem Entwurf der Architekten Engel Kraemer Zimmermann als Verbindung des Altbaus zum pavillonartigen neuen Eingangsbau des Presse- und Besucherzentrums des Informationsamtes. Die erhaltenen Gebäudeteile des Postscheckamts sind denkmalgeschützt. |
