Summary
[edit]DescriptionBerlin, Mitte, Krausenstrasse 35-36, Adina Apartment Hotel 03.jpg |
English: The Adina Apartment Hotel Berlin at Krausenstraße No. 35-36 in Berlin-Mitte. The building was constructed after 1900, the architect is unknown. Originally, the building stood at Dönhoffplatz, but that small city park vanished when, starting in 1969, high-rise apartment buildings were erected in this neighborhood. The only pre-WWII buildings which were left standing are this building and the nearby Krausenhof. The building was altered for the first time after 1937. It was probably damaged in WWII, because the facade was redesigned in the 1950s, receiving a classicist outlook; at the same time, the attic was altered into a full story. Preserved original components of the building include the facades of the inner yard with large windows and a white-green facing as well as the main stairwells. The building received a modern annex along Jerusalemer Straße (structured similar to the original building) when it was altered into an apartment hotel in 2006/2007. The building has been designated as a historic landmark. |
