Deutsch: Wohnhaus in der Köpenicker Straße 93-94, Ecke Wassergasse (links) in Berlin-Mitte. Das fünfgeschossige Eckhaus wurde 1885 für den Buchbinder Theodor Kampffmeyer errichtet. Die stattliche Ziegel-Stuck-Fassade mit zahlreichen historisierenden Ornamenten ist ein Zeugnis der einst repräsentativen Randbebauung des Schulze-Delitzsch-Platzes, den heute hauptsächlich Nachkriegsbauten bestimmen. Während den Haupteingang an der Köpenicker Straße Giebel und Karyatiden schmücken, ist der an der Wassergasse gelegene frühere Dienstbotenzugang unscheinbar. Das Gebäude ist als Baudenkmal ausgewiesen.
Deutsch: Residential building at Köpenicker Straße No. 93-94, corner of Wassergasse (on the left) in Berlin-Mitte. The five-story corner building was constructed in 1885 for Theodor Kampffmeyer, a bookbinder. The stately facades with numerous ornaments are an example of historicism and document that Schulze-Delitzsch-Platz (which is now characterized by post-WWII buildings) was once surrounded by representative structures. The main portal on Köpenicker Straße is decorated with a pediment and with caryatides, whereas the side entrace on Wassergasse, originally intended for servants, is inconspicuous. The building has been designated a historic landmark. |
