Description
Deutsch: Geschäftshaus in der Burgstraße 26, Ecke Anna-Louisa-Karsch-Straße in Berlin-Mitte, gegenüber der Museumsinsel. Das Gebäude wurde 1910/1911 gegenüber der damaligen Berliner Börse errichtet und beherbergte über einem zweistöckigen Ladengeschoss Büroräume. Die Gestaltung der weitgehend original erhaltenen Fassade ist beeinflusst von Alfred Messels prägnanter Fassade am nicht mehr existierenden Kaufhaus Wertheim am Leipziger Platz. Das Gebäude beherbergt heute die Theologische Fakultät der Humboldt-Universität. Es ist als Baudenkmal gelistet.
English: Commercial building at Burgstraße 26, corner of Anna-Louisa-Karsch-Straße in Berlin-Mitte, vis-à-vis the Museum Island. It was built 1910 to 1911 near the Berlin stock echange building (not preserved). Above two-story shops, offices were located. The design of the facade is influenced by Alfred Messel's famous facade for Kaufhaus Wertheim at Leipziger Platz (not preserved). It is now seat of the Theological Faculty of Humboldt University. The building has been designated as a historic landmark.
