Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Station Road, Thurstaston, Wirral, England on a Monday morning. A mostly straight road of approx three quarters of a mile in length. Built originally to serve Thurstaston railway station, the line was closed and the track lifted in the 1960s, although the original platforms still remain. The road now serves as an access point to a caravan site, the Thurstaston visitor centre, the beach on the River Dee and the Wirral Way (the old railway route reclaimed as a footpath). Thus the road remains useful in the summer for motorists, cyclists, walkers, joggers and horse riders. In the background can be seen the River Dee and the North Wales coast.
