English: Original title: Minute Maid Company president talking to members of Senate committee - Tallahassee, Florida
Note: A last minute agreement from one of the largest citrus grove operators and processors in the world (Minute Maid) saw a 17-bill package of citrus legislation, already approved by the House, clear a Senate committee and finally bring peace to the citrus camp. Ben Oehlert, talking at right, president of the huge grower-processor complex, said his company would agree to a nine-cent excise tax and without the brand name rebate. Committee member[s], from left around table are Sens. Merrill P. Barber, Vero Beach; Scott Kelly, chairman, of Lakeland; Mack Cleveland, Sanford, and Mrs. Beth Johnson, Orlando, back to camera. In center background is Ben Hill Griffin, of Polk County and chairman of the House Citrus Committee. |
