English: Bend on the River Skirfare. The steep sides of the dale cast long shadows on a winter afternoon, putting the river in the shade while leaving the eastern slopes in sunlight.
This photo is somewhat poignant as it was taken the day before Foot and Mouth disease hit North Yorkshire, leading to all footpaths in the area to be closed for nearly a year. See 194194 taken a couple of weeks later. |
