| Description |
English: Bend in the road near the site of the former Ynys Station Ynys was one of innumerable halts on the journey between Aberystwyth and Caernarfon. I cannot remember anyone boarding or alighting at Ynys but the train always stopped there, sometimes for what seemed to be ages. In the days shortly before the closure of the Afonwen-Caernarfon section of the line in 1964 the journey from Caernarfon to Aberystwyth took 7 hours. Today, the bus does it in less than 3 hours. |
