Summary
[edit]DescriptionBench mark on Saltney Quay - geograph.org.uk - 1388309.jpg |
English: Bench mark on Saltney Quay. This bench mark is at the top of what is left of a flight of stone steps down to the river at Saltney Quay. 100 years ago this area was a hive of activity with ship building nearby and ships tying up at the quay. This photo was taken by holding the camera at arms length facing back towards the photographer, who was lying down on the grass. The collapse of the steps, and the river mud on what remains, makes it difficult if not impossible to stand where the camera was - I wasn't going to try it! A view of the steps from across the river can be seen at 388755 |
