Description
English: A Post-Medieval copper-alloy strap/belt fitting, dating to AD 1500 - 1600. The fitting is sub-lozenge in plan and rectangular in cross section. At the top of the fitting is a rectangular sectioned hook that is curved inwards. The lower edges of the lozenge are curved and in three tiers terminate at a rounded point. The front is decorated with two vertical incised lines, located one either side of the projecting hook. The front of the fitting retains traces of gilding. The underside is undecorated.
