Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Vacant office building in Lakewood, Colorado which was demolished sometime between August 28 and September 11, 2012. More info can be found here: https://web.archive.org/web/20101220053041/http://www.thedenvereye.com/category/office-buildings/ "Underappreciated Modernist circular office building in Lakewood, built 1970. Originally an insurance company building, this tower was built across the street from May Bonfil’s Belmar Mansion and the Villa Italia Mall, both now gone."; https://www.facebook.com/LakewoodEconDev/posts/the-six-story-circular-belmar-office-tower-otherwise-known-as-the-geico-building/280954602006777/ From Facebook: "Lakewood Economic Development - August 28, 2012 · The six-story circular Belmar Office Tower, otherwise known as the Geico building, at West Alameda Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard is coming down. The long-vacant building to the east, formerly a Bennigan's restaurant, has already been demolished. The contractor has chosen to deconstruct the office tower, rather than use other methods of demolition, to maximize recycling opportunities of the waste. Clearing the land will prepare the site for what the developer said will be a Walgreens and a Key Bank.
