Description
English: In this picture we can appreciate a belly button infection as a result of poor post umbilical hernia surgical care.

An umbilical hernia is a sac in the muscles of the abdomino-pelvic cavity, that occurs when an internal part of the body (mainly intestines or fatty tissue) pushes thru a weak spot of the muscular tissue. The surgical procedure to repair an umbilical hernia is first to separate the hernia from the other type of tissue. Then, push back into to cavity the organ or fatty tissue that was pushing out. Finally to stitch the weak spot.
