| Description |
English: Bellini's at the corner of Monaghan Street and Merchants' Quay This elegant building, which for many years was a derelict eyesore was purchased and totally refurbished by a consortium of Ulster businessmen. It includes restaurants, night clubs and shops. The red banner on the balcony solicits bookings for Confirmation and Communion celebrations. In Newry City, where some 90% of the population is Catholic, confirmation is as much a social as a religious occasion and celebrations are often lavish and on par with as those for Bar Mitzvahs in, say, Golders Green.
