ACROSS THE CONTINENT The long distance demonstration was spectacular to watch as well as fun to listen to A man said that the Voder is awonderful example of the advance-ment the telephone industry has madein the technical research of sound andspeech. The Voder is just marvelous andso is the girl who is operating it. Woman Science Teacher: Said that,in her opinion, the Voder is the near-est approach to a human function inscience. Professor of Oriental Languages:Said he was impressed by the me- chanical and electrical marvels of themachine. He had an idea of the diffi-culties which had to be surmountedbecause of his experience in teachingArabic and other languages by pho-netics. He added that he intended toput our Exhibit on the must list forhis associates on the faculty. Hearing Tests Were Very Popular Among all the exhibits at the Fairthe hearing tests ranked high in novelappeal and personal benefit. Thatthey were so considered is indicatedby the fact that the tests given to vis-itors
