The sailors weregreatly pleased and one fellow prac-tically exploded with laughter. At theheight of his merriment, he slapped hisleg and said Not arf bad, not arf.They had seen a news reel of theVoder in Bermuda, and as soon asthey set foot on Treasure Island theymade a bee line to our Exhibit to seethe machine that mykes speech. Staff Members Realized They Rep-resented the Entire Bell System In preparing for the operation ofthe Exhibit, we realized that while theset-up of the demonstrations insuredpopularity, good will would be fur-thered by creating a truly friendly at-mosphere.
