Beyond the direct distributionareas and outside the areas served bythe centralized storerooms are remote•communities where local storeroomsmust continue to operate. However,even in these locations the trend is to-ward smaller and more frequent ship-ments from the distributing houses,plus night loading of work trucks,standard types and quantities ofstoreroom stocks, and more accurateforecasts of local requirements, all ofwhich aid in giving better supply serv-ice from these modern storerooms.
