Thenthe employee may enroll in the ad-vanced course, and upon completingit may receive the advanced coursecertificate—which places him in goodstanding for another similar period.He may then again take the advancedcourse, and so on for subsequent peri-ods. In this way the individual em-ployees knowledge of first aid, andhis skill in administering it, will begiven a definite continuity. It is generally recognized that thesuccess of any training program de-pends largely upon the abilities andsincerity of the instructors. Theymust not only possess the necessaryknowledge and skill, but they mustalso know how to teach and have thenecessary equipment for proceedingwith the instruction. Since most ofthe telephone company first aid in-structors teach only a limited numberof classes each year, it seemed par-ticularly important to include in thejoint agreement procedures for assur-
