Summary

[edit]
Description

c/n 40 Built as a Bell 47B in May 1947 at Bell Aircraft’s Buffalo Plant, near Niagara Falls. Registered as N120B, she was operated by Alaska Airlines and based at Anchorage. She was converted to 47D-1 standard in 1951 and was then used for crop-spraying by AG Helicopters in San Fernando. She was exported to the UK in 1962 and registered as G-ARXH, being converted to 47G standard at about the same time. Now 74 years old, she still has her original wooden rotor blades and is one of the oldest flyable helicopters in the world. She is on display as part of the Armourgeddon Military Museum Husbands Bosworth, Leicestershire, UK
