Theu- sagacity is wonderful, and the beholder can scarcely realizethat he is simply witnessing the effects of proper training, and not theperformance of animals endowed with reasoning powers. The whole ofthis large establishment is under the proprietorship of Messrs. Chas. Reicheand Brother, the proprietors of the New York Aquariiim, who will add freshnovelties for the entertainment of their patrons during the season. After leaving the Aquarium, we pass Thompson & Bennetts Hotel,one of the first established and most refined hotels on the island. It is runon the European plan, contains thirty rooms, is situated within one minuteswalk from Culvers Depot, and its rates are from twelve to twenty dollarsper week, according to location of rooms.

We pass The Grand Union, a most excellent hotel with good accommo-dations, and Vandeveers, the well-known Eoad House and Hotel, with goodbathing accommodations near the beach, under the superintendence of Mrs.Vandeveer; but let me say a word for the little ones accompanying you ; per-haps they would like a ride upon an elephant, a camel, a bear, or a donkey ;if so, they can be accommodated by a worthy man opposite, and will bewhirled round and round to their hearts deligbt to the tune of an accom-modating organ, at a charge of ten cents. A low building on the rightnow meets our view—it is the depot of the PROSPECT PARK AKD CONEY ISLAND RAILROAD, of which Mr. Andrew Culver is president, and Mr. Schemerhorn the efficientsuperintendent.
