| Description |
English: Up freight on ex-GC Sheffield - Nottingham main line near Holbrook Colliery Sidings, between Beighton and Killamarsh. View northward, towards Sheffield and Rotherham. Ex-NER Raven LNER B16/1 4-6-0 No. 61432 (built 6/21 as No. 942, withdrawn 7/61) heads a typical freight on the ex-GC main line southward from Sheffield, also Doncaster etc. via Rotherham. Over to the right is the ex-Midland main line from Rotherham (Masborough) to Chesterfield and the River Rother, while out of frame to the left is the ex-GC (former LD&EC) line to Langwith Junction and Lincoln. (It was an ideal spot for train-watching, but the weather was not good that day). |
