| Description |
English: Old sign for Florida State Toll Road 568, the designation for the Veterans Expressway between Dale Mabry Highway (Florida State Road 597) and the Suncoast Parkway, in Northdale, Florida. An old photograph I thought was lost years ago. This was on the section of the Veterans Expressway that was supposed to go through Lutz, Florida towards Interstate 75 at either the northern Apex with I-275, or closer to Bruce B. Downs Boulevard in New Tampa. Unfortunately, the continuation of the road past Dale Mabry was thwarted by anti-highway zealots who were convinced the road would destroy the environment and lead to suburban sprawl. As it turned out, the suburban sprawl came anyway. |
