The Beeston Motor Company's motor tricycle of 1899

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: In 1899 the motorised tricycle was popular, and there were several makers most using a design and engines licensed from De Dion Bouton, who first produced his motor tricycle in 1897. This particular example is the motor tricycle made in 1899 by the Beeston Motor Company (which went into liquidation in 1900). It has a 2HP engine with electric ignition, and was priced at £70. It is easily confused with the very similar Humber 'Beeston' motor tricycle made at Humber's Beeston works and priced at £84.
