De locomotieven van de serie 2200 werden veelvuldig gebruikt voor het rijden van zware goederentreinen, bijvoorbeeld ertstreinen, vanuit de Rotterdamse haven. Speciaal hiervoor konden de locomotieven multiple bediend worden. Dit wil zeggen dat maximaal vier locomotieven tegelijk door één machinist bediend kon worden. De locomotieven verschenen oorspronkelijk in een bruin jasje op de baan. Later zijn de meeste machines overgeschilderd in de geel/grijze huisstijl van de NS. The locomotives of the series 2200 were extensively used for drive of heavy freight trains, for example ore trains, from the port of Rotterdam. Multiple locomotives could be served especially for this purpose. This means that up to four locomotives could be operated by one operator at a time. The locomotives appeared originally in a brown jacket on the job. Later, most machines painted over in the yellow/grey house style of the NS. |
