Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Bee-keepers' day at the state apiary at the Ruakura Agricultural Research Centre. The president of the National Beekeepers' Association of New Zealand is addressing the gathering, with two groups of men and women, mostly seated, one group on the left beneath trees, and the others on the right in front of a hedge. An elderly man is seated in a three-wheeled wheelchair in the foreground. There is a strip of lawn between the two groups, at the end of which is a gate in a fence with a small thatched summer house behind. A car is also visible behind the fence. Photographed by Albert Percy Godber in 1921.
