| Description | Bedford RLHZ 'Green Goddess' Civil Defence mobile pump unit at the RAF Museum, Cosford, 8 July 2020. Although generally regarded as a fire engine, technically it was not. It's design concept was based on fire-fighting in the aftermath of a nuclear attack with the appliance operating as part of Mobile Fire Columns responding to emergencies in any terrain anywhere in the UK. My father was in the Civil Defence and drove such vehicles. |
