| Description |
English: Bed of the River Tyne at low tide At extremely low tides a large part of the river bed in this area becomes visible with the river confined to a deep, narrow channel near the south bank. Erosion of the river bed has extended the tidal limit of the river to the weir below Wylam Bridge (just visible in the far distance) some 25 miles from the sea. The previous tidal limit was down-river near Ryton 79774 |
