Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Black-headed Ibises (Threskiornis melanocephalus) are wading birds that breed in South Asia and Southeast Asia from Pakistan to India, Sri Lanka east up to Japan. They are usually found in inland marshy wetlands and on the coast. The bald head, the neck and legs are black. The thick curved bill is dusky yellow. Adults measure, on average, 75 cm in length. They have a mostly white plumage with some greyer markings on the wings. Juveniles can be identified by their whiter necks and black bills. Males and females look alike.
