JUSTICIA CARNEA
Brazilian Plume Plant.
P e r h a ps no
plants have at-
tracted somuch
attention in the
last two years
as the Justicia,
or Brazilian
Plume Plant.
The plant is a
strong, .rapid
grower, and
throws up long
stems.on which
are produced
fine, plume like
pink, flowers,
the endsof each
petal drooping
in a most char-
ming manner.
When plants'
are but a few
months old
they are literal-
ly covered with
their beautiful
blossoms. It
does equally
well either for
house or out-
door culture,
8 cents each.
WEEPING LANTANA.— A New "Weeping Plant
of Great Beauty.
WEEPING LANTANA.
One of the grandest basket plants grown. The plant has a most graceful drooping habit, growsvery rapidly and blooms contin-
ually Summer and Winter, producing large clusters of the most delicate lilac or rosy pink, foliage a beautiful dark green. A single
plant on August 1st, this past Summer, had fiv£ hundred and ninety clusters of flowers on it. The same plant December 1st had
three hundred and fifty clusters of flowers on, which, proves it one of the most persistent bloo mers, and does equally well V\ inter
and Summer. I know of nothing of recent intro-
duction that is so easily grown and gives so much
pleasure and satisfaction as this beautiful Lan-
tana. . Strong plants 8 cents each.
LANTANAS, OR SHRUBBY
VERBENAS.
The brilliant colors, robust growth and profuse
blooming habit of the Lantana render it one of
the finest bedding plants I grow. The flowers
embrace all of the most delicate shades of orange,
sulphur, creamy white, etc., changing from one
distinct color to another as they increase in age
and development. The varieties I have give a wide
range of color, and include the most distinct and
profuse kinds. 6 cents each; five lovely
colors for 25 cents.
LINUM TRIGYNUM.
A plant of great beauty producing inthegreat-
est profusion very large and showy blossoms of a
bright yellow color. It is probably the freest
Winter blooming plant I have. 8 cents each.
The Wonderf til New Lemon,
PONDEROSA.
Nothing that has ever been brought to my no-
tice in the plant line has caused one half the com-
motion that this wonderful Lemonhas. Itisatrue
ever-bearing variety. On a plant six feet high,
no less than eighty-nine of these ponderous Lem-
ons were growing at one time. It was a beautiful
sight to see. The tree was blooming and at the
same time had fruit in all stages of development,
from the size of a pea up to the ripe fruit, showing
it to be a true ever-bearer. Fruit has been taken
from this tree weighing over four pounds. The
Lemons have very thm rind for such large fruit.
It is the juiciest of all Lemons, makes delicious
lemonade, and for culinary purposes cannot be
excelled. It is not uncommon to make twelve
lemon pies from one lemon. I have secured true
stock of this ponderous Lemon, and guarantee the
trees to produce the same large fruit. Thisisa
hardy Lemon. It has stood 25 degrees of frost
without hurting it. No budding or grafting nec-
essary. Ponderosa Lemon is sure to become
popular when it is known. It fruits when quite
small, and makes a lovely house plant. Everybody
can grow their owu Lemons; it will fruit freely
the second year. Thrifty young plants, 20e each; three
for 50c. Large two-year-old plants to bloom and fruit at
once, 60c each.
lemon of Sicily.— (Diuarf.) This is as much ofa wonder
as the Dwarf Orange. It bears Lemons the freest of any va-
riety in cultivation. A handsome companion for the Dwarf
Orange; as it bears fruit when quite small. Fruit is edible.
Flowers are as fragrant as the Orange blossoms. 10c each; ^^iiii.^*'

large, strong plants, 30c each. NEW lemon ponderosa. One-fifth the natural size.

It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.
