Being A short and pleasing Introduction to an Acquaintance with the Nature and Qualities of the Animal World: Divested of all Fabulous Absurdities. - Selected from the most celebrated Naturalists, and arranged under the General Heads of Quadrupeds, Fowls, Fishes, Lizards, Insects, &c. Describing All the capital Characteristicks of the most distinguished Individuals, in every separate Class; their discriminating Habits of Life; their social, savage, active, or indolent Dispositions; the regular Economy and Government of some, the singular Sagacity of others, and the wonderful Instinct of all. With a preliminary essay, on the pleasure and advantage of this science. The whole illustrated by A great Variety of copper-plates, engraved from Nature.
