Beating the Odds Foundation students got a taste of space in May of 2018 with NASA Goddard scientists and engineers. Goddard center director Chris Scolese welcomed students from Great Valley School District, Bellwood-Antis School District, Learn4Life, Coatesville Area School District, Hollidaysburg Area School District and Carmichaels Area School District. The students heard all about the latest in astrophysics and got an update on the upcoming NASA's James Webb Space Telescope. After the scientists presented, then it was the students’ turn to give their own research presentations. Afterwards, the students toured some of the facilities at NASA Goddard, and saw a Hyperwall presenation by Dr. John Mather, Nobel Laureate and Senior Project Scientist for Webb.
