Description
English: Beach at Nun Mill Bay This is the sandy beach in Nun Mill Bay at low tide. The wreck of the schooner "Monreith" can be seen in the middle distance. She went aground on 12.11.1900 when carrying 110 tons of granite kerb stones from Newcastle, County Down to Silloth in Cumbria. The crew all got safely ashore in the ship's lifeboat. In the far distance the lighthouse on Little Ross Island is just visible. Monreith. Number 62266. Launched 26 Apr 1876. Built at Port William.[1]
