Description
English: Gurudongmar Lake in North Sikkim is a spectacular semi-frozen lake right on the border with Tibet. Amongst the highest lakes in the world, this otherworldly place is believed to have been visited by great religious features such as Guru Nanak and the Buddhist Guru Padmasambhava. A place of pilgrimage for Buddhists, the lake regularly sees plenty of devotees paying their respect along its shores. Do not linger here for more than an hour or so - descend to the lower mountains before the altitude gets you.
