Summary
[edit]DescriptionBay of Fundy, Canada (ASTER).jpg |
English: The Bay of Fundy, between the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, has the highest tidal range in the world. The difference between high and low tide is 16.8 meters. Oceanographers attribute it to tidal resonance: the time it takes to go from the mouth of the bay to the inner shore and back is the same as the time from one high tide to the next (Wikipedia). The two ASTER images were acquired April 7, 2008 at high tide, and June 26, 2017 at low tide. The images cover an area of 25.5 by 36 kilometers, and are located at 45.3 degrees north, 64 degrees west. |
