Description
Deutsch: Haus Bavaria 1883-1944, Frankfurt, Schillerplatz / Ecke Schillerstraße. Architekt Simon Ravenstein, Bauherrn Gebrüder Krause aus Mainz. Dachbekrönung eine in Zink gearbeitete Bavaria-Statue auf einer Löwenquadriga stehend des Schweizer Künstler Gustav Herold (1839-1927). Standort des berühmten Frankfurter Café Bauers des Wiener Cafetiers Matias Bauer, der bereits in Berlin seit 1877 das gleichnamige Café Bauer (Berlin) betrieb. Rechts das im Bau befindliche ALEMANNIA Haus mit seine auf dem Segmentgiebel befindlichen Alemannia-Figur und seiner hohen, alle Gebäude überragenden fackelbekrönten Dachkuppel. Im Zweiten Weltkrieg brannten alle Gebäude durch Fliegerbomben aus.
