Description
English: Germania Park (today part of Bonin Field) and its surroundings in about 1944. On the right is the complex best known as the "Battleship Block", originally called Germania Worker Housing, designed by George P. B. Alderman and commissioned by Louis LaFrance in 1911. At the left is the First Lutheran Church in its original location, when it was known as the German Lutheran Church, since the time this photo was taken, by the 1950s it would assume its new home on Northampton Street.
