DescriptionBattle of Viena.jpg | Print shows the battle of Vienna, September 12, 1683, with numerous engagements among various forces in the near and middle distance, and Vienna in the background separated from the fighting by "the Vienna River" (probably a branch of the Danube). Includes the obverse and reverse of a medallion commemorating the onset of and the liberation from the siege of Vienna, a representative example of a Turkish soldier, and possibly the Imperial Banner of the Prophet captured by allied forces under the command of Sobieski. Also includes a legend, coded by letter, which identifies the various factions and details of the battle. | |||||
