Summary
[edit]DescriptionBattle of Mohács 1526.png |
English: The most detailed depiction of the battle of Mohács.
It was depicted by Johann Schreier , part of the Ehrenspiegel des Hauses Österreich / Ehrenwerk des Hauses Österreich / Österreichisches Ehrenwerk 1555. A chronicle written for Johann Jacob Fugger around 1555 An interesting feature of the depiction is that it evokes the memories of a German Landsknecht veteran, who participated in the battle of Mohács. It depicts in detail the Hungarian heavy cavalry and artillery, the Serbian hussars (the only light cavalry units of Kingdom of Hungary in the battle), the Hungarian Wagon fort and the Christian infantry with the pikes, pickaxes and alabards. |
