English: Battersea: Grove Wharf & Falcon Wharf Dock In all the redevelopment that has taken place along the frontage of the River Thames in Battersea Reach it's good to be able to report that a couple of these small docks have been retained and not filled in. This one lies between Grove Wharf and Falcon Wharf and certainly does not appear in the Ordnance Survey map of 1874. However by the time of the 1896 Edition it is clearly present and Grove Wharf is shown as a chemical works. Alexander's 647477 shows the dock from the landward end looking out to the river. This image was taken from the footbridge in Alexander's photograph. |
