Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Batsto Lake - "The Batsto Lake and River were the major reasons for the location of the village and Iron Furnace. The rivers were a source for bog ore. The lake was created by the dam which allowed boats to move bog iron from rivers and streams, to the Iron Furnace. The lake also provided water power for the Sawmill and Gristmill. Fishing is permitted along with canoeing. The nearby Nature Center, has 8 canoes available for guided nature trips on the lake." (http://www.batstovillage.org/lake.htm)
