English: These 21 leaves with Conrad of Gelnhausen’s Epistula concordiae originally were part of a composite manuscript of theological content from the Dominican monastery of Basel. The text was written in Paris in 1397 by Heinrich Jäger from Ulm. The content takes up a proposal elaborated at the suggestion of King Charles V of France for the resolution of the Great Schism of 1378; Conrad of Gelnhausen proposes the convocation of a general council.
Deutsch: Die 21 Blätter mit der Epistula concordiae des Konrad von Gelnhausen waren ursprünglich Teil einer theologischen Sammelhandschrift aus dem Basler Dominikanerkloster. Geschrieben wurde das Stück 1397 von Heinrich Jäger aus Ulm in Paris. Inhaltlich handelt es sich um einen auf Anregung von König Karl V. von Frankreich ausgearbeiteten Vorschlag zur Beilegung des 1378 entstandenen Grossen Schismas, in dem Konrad von Gelnhausen die Einberufung eines allgemeinen Konzils empfiehlt.

Le texte fut rédigé en 1397, par Heinrich Jäger d’Ulm, à Paris. Il s’agit de la réélaboration d’une proposition pour mettre fin au Grand Schisme de 1378, formulée à la demande du roi Charles V de France; Konrad von Gelnhausen propose de convoquer un concile général.
Italiano: I 21 fogli della Epistula concordiae di Corrado di Gelnhausen erano in origine parte di un manoscritto composito a contenuto teologico proveniente dal convento domenicano di Basilea. Il testo fu vergato nel 1397 da Heinrich Jäger di Ulm a Parigi. Per quanto riguarda il contenuto, si tratta della rielaborazione di una proposta atta a risanare il Grande scisma del 1378, formulata su richiesta del re Carlo V di Francia; Corrado di Gelnhausen propone di convocare un concilio generale. |
