English: The Japan Meteorological Agency’s GMS-5 satellite captured this visible imagery at 08:33 Coordinated Universal Time on September 22, 1999, featuring Typhoon Bart at peak intensity. At the time, Bart had 1-minute sustained winds of 160 mph (260 km/h), and the Japanese Meteorological Agency estimated Bart's minimum central pressure at 935 millibars. Bart was 525 kilometers from land. |
