| Description |
English: Barn, Barney Unconverted so unlike many of the barns in Barney. Considering the development opportunity these barns in north Norfolk may represent for their owners, I wonder, whenever I see one of these forlorn buildings, what is going on. Some owners are strongly opposed to barn conversions per se because the likelihood is that they will end up as a second home. Some owners may not have the capital to carry out the conversion and do not want to sell on to a developer who has. Some may be waiting tactically. Others may have been refused planning consent.
My view on the matter is pragmatic. If left unused and unrepaired, these buildings will eventually fall down. Better to convert than let that happen and if the owners can make money in the process, good luck to them. |
