English: Barmouth Bridge, near to Barmouth, Gwynedd, Great Britain.
This section of the bridge was originally built as a draw bridge, to allow the passage of vessels up the Afon Mawddach, and is still marked as such on the1960 1:25000 map. However, it was converted to a swing bridge in 1901. The mechanism is still operational but rarely used. |
