| Description |
The bare tube modded Canon 540EZ lighting itself at full power (due to lacking optical feedback sensor) fired by the Pocket Wizard Plus II visible. An experiment to capture the lighting and the light at the same time. The visible filter is a circular polarising filter rotated to around 90 degrees to the equivalent filter on the camera lens, this provides a ridiculous amount of variable light attenuation. I set the exposure on the strobe unit and Pocket Wizard by sliding them along the washing line. I have been experimenting with using 2 polarising filters to attenuate strobe power as a progressive manual power control. It leads to colour cast unfortunately. If I had any welding goggles I would have tried these. The actual tube lets out an immense amount of light, no matter how much attenuation I could achieve, I couldn't stop it burning out.
