Description
English: Barclay 11" 0-6-0ST No.699 of 1891 "Swanscombe", the oldest surviving Barclay loco. It was first used at the Northfleet Coal & Ballast Co. at Norhfleet and then went to the quarries and wharfes at West Thurrock of the Thurrock Chalk and Whiting Co. (later Associated Portland Cement, then Blue Circle). It was usedd until 1965. The loco is pictured at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, 05/85. Scanned photograph taken with a Canon AE-1 Program.
