Barbed and tanged arrowhead from Offa's Dyke Path on Hay Bluff. Copyright Mr Jim Saunders. |
||
Description |
English: A fine, bifacially worked barbed and tanged arrowhead in perfect condition. Found with the tip sticking out of a peat layer eroded by the Offa's Dyke Path. Light grey flint, with slight trace of white cortex on one face at the base of the central tang. Fresh, crisp condition without patination/weathering suggests burial until recent exposure. Findspot on ridge could imply possible association with unrecognised feature/context such as a cairn. |
