Title
Barbed and tanged arrowhead
Description
English: An incomplete Early Bronze Age barbed and tanged flint arrowhead (c. 2500 BC-c. 1500 BC).

Description:This arrowhead is sub-triangular in plan and an elongated pointed-oval shape in cross-section and side view. One barb is broken and the tang is short with a flat terminal. The arrowhead is bifacially worked with covering, scaled, low-angled retouch.

The arrowhead remains in good condition and is a semi-transcluscent dark grey colour with browner hues at the thinner edges.

Measurements: 26.23mm long, 18.78mm wide, 3.75mm thick and 1.60g in weight

Discussion:

Similar flint barb and tanged arrowheads are associated with the Beaker phase of the Late / final Neolithic and Early Bronze Age c. 2400 BC -1500 BC.
